iPhone 4

Just when my lure for iPad grown, the newly launched iPhone 4 divert my interest. Some of the key improvement from the previous gen:

1. Battery Life
2. Processors Apple A4
3. Thinnest Design but slight increase in weight
4. Improved Display of 4 times more pixels than current iPhone 3gs
5. Better camera
6. additional microphone on top for noise reduction

With all these benefits and enhancement over the previous version, it makes harder for me to do the decision on iPad or iPhone. iPhone may have all the stuff bundled, but still, the size of it is much smaller. If I were to use to for typing mostly, it would not be that convenient compares to iPad. But, portablity wise, iPhone still rules out all since it integrates with camera (which I am fans of photo-snapping) and serves me good as phone with cool apps running. My omnia i900 has scratches all over but the device still serves me good. Though, it is not as cool as iPhone and performs slower even, but it does gives me good assistance in GPS. Other function that I seldom use it for is WIFI.

Probably I should use my device until its’ lifespan with the much commitment cropping up. Hope it won’t fail me so fast that I could appreciate the phone to fullest.

Silicone or rubber protective cover case for Omnia i900

Finally, I managed to get myself the protective cover case for my Samsung Omnia i900. It was a long search but fret not, I manage to find it despite the scratches around my mobile. Been looking up and down, from Subang to KL to Klang, and now I got it just for RM20. I didn’t bother to bargain since I have literally searched for it but of much failure. The cover looks nice tho as it wrap around the handset tight enough to hold it strong. With the cover on it, it makes the handset look like new again and certainly worth the money spent. Only thing is, the protective cover seems a little ugly with the new case on. Will change it soon.

P/S: Anyone interested to get the cover can leave a message here. I grabbed few since I thought I would keep some for spare but if anyone is interested, I dont mind to sell it.

Remote control and desktop to Windows Mobile

I have always been wondering if there is such application and strongly believe it does due to the platform it is running (Windows). Since I am a supporter for Microsoft software and I might be biased but, again, nothing is impossible when it comes to user friendly in Microsoft.

Back to topic before I get gunned down, without giving up my previous attempt to find for the right software (easy to setup and not time consuming), I finally found one after few commercials software. It was running good, tho with some limitation with the freeware version, but it fits all my needs for the time being. One notable requirement, needs physical connection to the handset before you can establish the connection. However, from the official site, it states that bluetooth connectivity is supported but I tried and gave it up as I have few other stuff to work on. Activesync is expected to be installed before the software is allowed to proceed into use.

EveryWan Remote Support Personal edition satisfied my needs. I am able to remote control my handset without having to leave my hand from my laptop to view incoming smses (my laptop have build-in touchpad, for those using mouse and keyboard separately, you may need to lift you palms and do the necessary pointing). Besides having the nice resolution of my handset in my desktop, I am also given the controls to edit the registry, draw on device (??!!), view my running task, do file transfer and many more. It somehow depicts the activesync control, but EveryWan have desktop control.

This software will now be a part of the software listing which would relates with the Windows Mobile Handset, the Samsung Omnia i900. Next will be the remote desktop control from the windows Mobile to external Windows. This would be great when my laptop is out of reach and I need to access my laptop with only my handset with me. Probably using bluetooth as the comm tunnel or via wifi connection.
