There are articles posted regarding the abovementioned subject. I just received a request to increase the file upload size limit in which made me recalls back the previous encounter where IIS have a default file size upload limit configuration prefix. Those changes are required in order to allow bigger size files to be able to transfer via the web application.
By default, ASP.NET only permits files that are 4,096 kilobytes (KB) (or 4 MB) or less to be uploaded to the Web server. To upload larger files, you must change the maxRequestLength parameter of the section in the Web.config file. If you want to change this setting for all of the computer and not just the specific ASP.NET application, you must modify the Machine.config file.
Once amended, it is advisable to reboot the system to allow the new settings take place.
P/S: There is another source claimed that following settings change is required as well:
Modify the value in the AspMaxRequestEntityAllowed property in the IIS metabase, set the maximum number of bytes that are permitted in the entity body of an ASP request. To do this, follow these steps:
1. At a command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
cd drive:\inetpub\adminscripts
Note In this command to change folders, drive is a placeholder for the hard disk where IIS is installed.
2. At a command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
cscript adsutil.vbs set w3svc/ASPMaxRequestEntityAllowed size
Note In this command, size is a placeholder for the largest file size upload that you want to allow. The maximum value is 1,073,741,824 bytes. Set this value to the lowest possible value that allows for the functionality that you want.
3. At a command prompt, type the following command, and then press ENTER:
iisreset

I have installed the mapking on my handset. It wasn’t working quite well as expected (I guess my expectation is abit high). It’s currently coherently working with the port splitter. Before the GPS is able to work, the port splitter will need to be activated first with the right COM port entered (which is COM8 and COM6).
Before that, the software will need to be installed (and licensed) together with the map in place. Else, Mapking without map will lead you to no where (but you’ll have coordinates, nevertheless).
I have tried to use it by travelling down to Amcorp Mall and some other places (which I roughly knows the place), but with my level of trust toward the device, I got myself driving further than I should. At the end, I didn’t bother using it but my sense. I guess my sense sometimes worked.
There are some delays in the device/software and my estimation would be around 2 seconds. The speedometer shown in the software is also not as accurate as the one shown in my dashboard. So, do not try to follow what the device’s speed or else you will be driving at an inconsistent speed to catch up the constant speed.
Besides, it will always be wise to make a habit to switch it off once the navigation-assist is no longer required. I got myself having the device in my pocket heating and I thought it was going to explode, pun intended. But it will gets heated up.
Am trying to get Garmin installed on my omnia but have not got a chance in grabbing the software just yet. Besides, I have been busy with work. This post was planned to put up but have been delayed for a month since. Will try to post up more details and tips as well as photos when I got a chance soon.
Oh yeah, got myself certified as Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist in SQL Server 2005. It’s my first certification and aiming to get the developer cert. Hopefully will complete an exam in the next two to three months then.
