Upgraded Wordpress 2.5.1

My intention was to write a post on different behaviour of the peoples around but felt that the update was more important as it will fix my problematic image posting feature. Besides, I need it quite badly as I have quite a number of pics to post and in due to this restriction, I created an online free (TM) album @ http://eklim.photoshop.com. Feel free to take a look. It mainly contains all the pics of vessels belongs to my current employer. Those pics are not taken by me but my other colleague from sister company.

While i’m writing this post, I’m actually downloading/preparing for the upgrade. There’s a farewell dinner to attend tomorrow and early wake up, I am planning to head the sack early.

Update: I can see the control icons now but there’s still some scripting error which is “object doesn’t support this property or method”. Not really sure which part causing the error as I am not a PHP or Javascript expert. Will try to sort it out later probably through your friendly engine, google (TM).

Update #2: I have replaced the post.php by manually removing the file and uploading it which resolves the missing object error. It looks good as of now and hats off to Wordpress and teams for such a great job!

Upgraded Wordpress 2.5 with dissapointment

Just upgraded my wordpress to version 2.5. There are quite a number of changes to the interface. I have not go into all the functions and release note yet but would strictly suggest NOT TO upgrade to this version yet as there is quite a number of script errors (even now there’s a script error and the WYSIWYG panel not working properly).

There is even some hiccup on the post-upgrade. “Call to undefined function … wp-includes/classes.php on line 241″ appeared on the main page when trying to visit my blog after the upgrade. Not sure what has happened but after googling for the error, it seems to be a problem to others as well.

The design is looks cool somehow but with the handicap “Write Post” function in this new release, I regret upgrading my blog as those shortcuts (icons) are not there but only left media icon. Hopefully they didn’t remove it or it will be a big dissapointment.

Not going to go into deeply today as it’s quite late now but wanted to make sure this blog is free from flaws and glitches, somehow made a quick move. For those of you who have not upgrade, please refrain yourself from doing so unless you have time to resolve it and please share it here so others who happened to drop by can gain.

Upgraded Wordpress 2.3.3, FileZilla speed things up

It’s been quite sometime since my last upgrade. There were some issue with my account in which leads to suspicion if there were bugs/exploit in those code. Hopefully this upgrade will put the instablity issue as well as any others to an end.

In getting my blog upgraded, I was lerking around for good ftp client. I found fileZilla. Previously I only felt that CuteFtp is the best as in stability and speed of accomplishing my objective. It allows multi-tunnel transfer of files which I believe contribution toward the performance. But now that i found FileZilla, no doubt the functionality is kinda similar to CuteFtp(as I don’t fancy overwhelming functions), but best of all, it’s free. And it also come with a portable version where I can save it into my portable harddisk(WD) which I bought few weeks ago.

That’s simply the best. I guess I have learnt and discovered something new this week. Another good weekend.
