Adding signature to an image

Was thinking to get myself photoshop software to do the job but later on decided to get something freeware instead. I remembered I used Gimp and it allows adding transparent  text to the image (as MS Paint restricts the text insertion with colored background).

Proceeded to download the GIMP at their official site and found out that they have layers function which is similar to photoshop. Am thinking to make the text to transparent instead of colored foreground. But being new to GIMP, found it a little adventurous to do it by exploring the function alone. So, as usual, Google’d it and found some tutorials posted, and one with youtube which is cool!

Just in case you might be interested (moving to a greener environment, supporting open source GIMP), here is a step by step tutorial posted on CreateBlog. There is a script control where you can just apply the script to get the transparency text done but for my GIMP which was just installed standard with no additional plugin added, it seems the script control is not the same as what shown in the second tutorial which is shown below. Will probably explore later on the way to enable the script control which could be much easier to get my task done.

Do share your experience if you do have one!

Freeware: SQL Profiler

Can be found here. It’s developed on .NET winform application that provides close similarity of MS SQL Profiler. The source code is made available for download for those who are more enthusiast on work behind the program.
